The Child Welfare Certificate includes completing the following:

  • SCWK 361: Legal Aspects of Social Work.
  • Senior internship at DHHS or private child welfare agency.
  • Benefits:
    • The coursework and internship take the place of several weeks of child welfare training when hired in at the state or private child welfare agency.

Yes- students may take either or both Child Welfare courses (SCWK 360 and SCWK 361) without completing the internship at a child welfare agency.
